Holiday Baubles Crochet Blanket Crochet-a-long
We all need something that takes us away from this years' stress and unpredictability. Cascade and Melinda Miller have joined in a project to take you away from all this.
The Holiday Baubles Blanket is a 9 part CAL running from October 21st through December 16th. Every Wednesday, Cascade Yarns will email a section of the pattern to their email newsletter subscribers. to Cascade Yarns and sign up for the newsletter. Melinda will provide support on her blog (https://mocrochet.blogspot.com/).
There are 3 colorways to choose from: Classic, Vintage & Modern. Check out these kits here. BUT you are not confined to these colorways. I have included the supplies list, and you can easily substitute your own colors. Simply go to my Cascade Anthem's page at https://yarn-store.com/yarn/by-brand/cascade/anthem/ and order your own colors.
Here's another idea! Prefer not to do a holiday design? Work the top of the ornament in the background color. Select colors that work for your décor or for whom you wish to gift it to. Change the layout of the final squares, and there you go! Basically select a background color. Then select 6 contrast or coordinating colors. The background color needs 14 balls, and the contrast colors are 2 balls each of 6 colors. If you choose to do more squares of design, that may effect the needed contrast colors.
Like this idea, but need more help and final color coordinating? Email me.
I'll ask questions like:
1) is this for a male, female, or neutral?
2) do you want contrast colors or tonal colors?
3) do you want something bright & happy, or more neutral and calming?
4) Anthem is 100% acrylic. Pacific Worsted will substitute. Cascade's Pacific Worsted has 40% Merino wool. This makes it a warmer blanket. Pacific Worsted is washable too. Or if you want to go pure wool. Cascade's 220 Peruvian wool has tons of colors. This yarn is hand wash or dry clean only. This would be super warm, yet breathable. So many options!
