Cascade 220 Superwash Yarn is a 100% wool yarn,

Gauge: 5.5 sts per inch on US#6 (4mm) or

(:1f9f6:) What weight is Cascade 220 Superwash Yarn?

Cascade has a complete line of 220 Superwash Yarns. The original 220 Superwash is a light worsted [4] to a DK weight yarn [3], using a US6 or 7 needle for around 5 sts per inch. 220 Superwash Aran, a heavy worsted [4] at 4 sts per inch on a US9 needle. 220 Superwash Sport is a Sport [2] weight, usually gets 5-5.5 sts per inch using a US 5or 6 needle. 220 Superwash Merino is a DK [3] weight, very soft because it is a Merino wool, gets 5 sts per in on a US7.

(:1f9f6:) Can you put Superwash wool in the dryer?

Superwash wools have been processed so they can be machine washed. Most manufacturers will recommend to machine wash on cool, gentle cycle, and to lay flat to dry. Although drying in the dryer on air (no heat) does help speed up the drying process. Very high temperatures and agitation will effect superwash yarns by slightly fuzzying the yarn. We just recommend no heat to maintain the appearance of your hand knit or crocheted project.

Cascade 220 Superwash is fairly soft, not itchy. Cascade 220 Superwash Merino is very soft. And what is soft to some, may not be soft to others. We can safely say that any superwash made from Merino is soft. Most superwashes that have silk added are also very soft.
